All my childhood life, I remember this question :
‘So what do YOU want to be when you grow up?’
I’m sure you got this question more than a couple of times and I’m sure your kids are getting it too. If not from you, then definitely from the other ‘adults’ in their environment.
So, I’m curious, how do your kids respond?
How did you respond in the past? How do you respond now?
All my life I had an answer to this all-encompassing question.
Early on it was a Vet.
Then it was a Conservationist.
And as I came into adulthood it became …
‘I don’t know’! I don’t know what I want to be when I grow up.
How crazy was it that the older I got the more I didn’t know what I wanted to BE when I grew up!!? I thought we were supposed to get wiser as we got older!!
If you ask me today, right now in this moment….
I know NOW, with all my heart and soul, more than ever before what I want to be when I grow up.
I WANT TO BE ME!
I believe that the world deserves me in all my authenticity and truth. Anything less than that would probably have me going in circles and reliving suffering and pain without any growth, true abundance or heart-prosperity. I would probably be trying to fill the gaps with things outside of me. Things like over spending; over drinking; over smoking; over eating; over sexing; over drugging; over ANYTHING!
Over anything, just to fill the gaps that not being my true self would inevitably create.
Been there done that!
The world needs me and you know what? THE WORLD NEEDS YOU to be the expression of your truest self. Whatever that may be in the current, present moment. To live in joy, in flow, in love with EVERYTHING. In love with yourself. If your current present moment is not reflecting that back to you, then I invite you to start on a journey of coming back home… coming back to YOU and remembering WHO YOU ARE!
Why am I sharing this with you? Why today? And why are YOU reading this?
I know it’s because you get it on a very deep level and understand that not being you comes at a cost. Not reaching your full, highest potential means you are selling yourself short and settling for a less than extraordinary life. Not being YOU means you are being someone else.
In essence, if you are not being you, then how are you teaching your children to be true to themselves?
Can you see where this is going?
We all want our children to blossom into the incredible humans they are meant to be. To be able to take a stand and integrate all of their ‘parts’ so that they can navigate themselves in their world and BE who they were meant to be. To thrive and to grow on all levels.
For your child to be able to do this, YOU got to do it first. Because once you embody this for YOU, it will be completely absorbed and taken up by your children. There is no other way about it.
This is a BIG DEAL and it keeps sinking in deeper and deeper to other layers for me as I grow and explore my world. And the more I grow and expand on the inside, the more I am true to myself in all areas of my life… including as a mom.
What about you? Is it sinking in right NOW? Is this important enough for you and your kids to want to hear more?
If you answer yes, please connect with me and let’s get on a call to get you on the path back home…
